After filling out surveys to determine bargaining priorities and voting to decide what UW Medicine healthcare workers want most out of our new contract in 2025, the results are in. Healthcare workers at UWMC-Northwest, UW Neighborhood and Specialty Clinics, UW Harborview Medical Center, Husky Health and Research, and Airlift Northwest Nurses have voted with overwhelming support to back our bargaining team and their priorities for bargaining.
Informed by the surveys, the bargaining team will fight for:
- Wages that recruit and retain and keep up with the cost of living and housing
- Strong staffing standards that improve our workload and patient safety
- Meeting community pay standards
- Break relief nurses on every unit and every shift, and expanding break relief to other job classes like nursing assistants
- EVS coworker certification program and staffing plans
- Standby/On call pay improvements
With this level of support from our coworkers, the bargaining team is looking forward to bargaining a great contract at UW Medicine and win historic gains!
