Healthcare workers at Kadlec in the Tri-Cities have officially ratified a historic new contract.

Going up against a giant corporation like Providence is no small feat, but we didn’t let up. We took numerous actions throughout the year, including sticker ups, marches on management, filing unfair labor practice charges, an informational picket, and even striking for 7 days in August.

Our unity paid off – together, we successfully secured an agreement that ensures equitable wages, creating a brighter future for low-wage workers, many of whom are from BIPOC and immigrant communities. We also won language to ensure our prior experience is credited, a voice in our insurance premiums, safe staffing measures, and more. We successfully defended against ALL takeaways to maintain the benefits we’ve already won! This milestone not only uplifts those historically marginalized but also models our commitment to racial justice, inclusivity, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

This contract win shows us that when we stand together and persist, we can win what we need to recruit and retain in order to provide the quality care our communities deserve.
