Harborview Vote Times!
Because of our union, our shared resources in our Healthcare Leadership Fund, and our collective action to elect lawmakers to Olympia, we secured an additional $20 million dollars in the past two years for Harborview’s budget. The reason Harborview’s own financial projection shows a $10 million profit margin is due to our advocacy for Harborview in Olympia. Without us, Harborview can’t heal our patients, can’t care for their families, and can’t be the Trauma 1 Center in a five-state region. We are THE heart of Harborview.
Next week, we will use our collective voice to determine our future with Harborview. Our bargaining team is recommending a vote of our membership, and we will be voting to authorize our bargaining team to call for public action or to ratify our contract.
Because we are strong in our union, we have a voice in our future. We are calling on administration to agree to a contract that reflects our values and allows us to move forward to conversations that will determine how we continue to work together with administration in ways that benefit all of us, just like we did this year in Olympia.
