In the month of June, we secured a strong new contract at Klickitat Valley Health. Staying persistent in our fight to make KVH a great place to work paid off – we won equitable raises, increased shift premiums, a new floating holiday, bilingual pay, and more.
Over in Seattle, through our unity, we won raises that respect our experience at UW Medical Center – Northwest! Earlier this year, we won the ability to re-submit our resumes for an experience review to be able to increase our step on the pay scale. UW has said they did not expect so many of us were being underpaid – 350 of us have applied for review and UW estimates 75% of us are going to receive raises, and many of us already have! When we fight, we win – even when we aren’t bargaining, we have to stay vigilant to enforce our contracts and make sure all of our hard-fought wins come into fruition.
So many of us across the state are in bargaining, or are heading into bargaining soon. Shoutout and solidarity to Swedish Medical Center, DSHS, St. Anne Hospital, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wellfound Behavioral Health, and Valley Medical Center Pro-Techs and Pharmacists. Stay tuned as we bargain and ratify the strong contracts we, as frontline healthcare workers, deserve.
